Six Museums to Celebrate in Queretaro
Queretaro (May 17, 2018) - Tomorrow, May 18, the International Museum Day is celebrated. This year's theme is Hyperconnected Museums: New Approaches, New Publics. You can visit all the museums in the city free of charge from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. These are just some of the activities that will be carried out:
The Foucault Pendulum Museum of Science. Located inside the Manuel Gómez Morín Educational and Cultural Center, in this construction devoted to science there will be a talk about The great mass extinctions, at 8:00 p.m. (Constituyentes and Luis Pasteur)
Regional Museum of Queretaro. In this space dedicated to the history of Mexico you’ll be able to witness the vestiges of Viceregal Mexico. At 7:30 p.m. there will be a traditional music concert by the Orquesta Bicentenario Tipica de Queretaro. (Corregidora 3 Sur, historical center)
Casa de la Zacatecana Museum. This old mansion will hold, every hour from 6 to 9 p.m., a performance about the legend of the Zacatecana; if you want to know the story and final fate of this woman who was involved in a deadly love triangle, don’t miss it. (Independencia 59, historic center).
Carol Rolland Foundation. In addition to seeing the exhibition Senses by Marcela Fernández Cantú, here you can attend the concert A flor de piel with the Serenada duo. (Ocampo 13 Nte.)
Galeria Libertad. Presenting, among other exhibitions, The Syrian Shoes, by Laila Hotait, a reflection on migration and war in the form of an installation. (Andador Libertad 56 Pte.)
Museo de la Ciudad. Here you can see Tribute to Teodoro González de León, an exhibition dedicated to the so-called concrete poet who designed, among other buildings, the Queretaro Convention Center, the Tamayo Museum of Contemporary Art and the Contemporary Art University Museum (MUAC) of Mexico City.
